Horn access ?
Hi all, my horn doe's not work even though she passed MOT like this.
To gain access I have removed cover/frame screws however panel seems fixed solid.
How will it remove or am I missing the point or screws or whatever ?
Alun.

Re: Horn access ?
two screww at the bottom (engine end) and two at the top just below the headset . you will also need to lift the head set off a bit to aid removing (allen head pinch bolt on the right hand side of headset) and re fitting the frame cover. stick the rubbers on the frame cover with some dabs of black sealer and leave to set before refitting the cover and a spray of soapy water on the leg sheilds aswell to aid fitting, can be a prat of a job to do. cheers simon ... ps forgot to add you will have to leaver off around the steering lock aswell

Re: Horn access ?
i have repaired the horns in the past, its usually a wire inside has snapped off due to the vibration of these things,
drill out the rivets that holds the front plate on and have a look inside.

Re: Horn access ?
the 12v normal type horns can be fitted, but its a faff, in the pust i have cut two groves in the outer ring of the horm and clamped it up.willie1505 wrote:Oh right Daz, will have a look at repairing it then. Ta again.

i do think some have used a small 12 volt buzzer in place of the horn.
i once went for an M.O.T test and although the horn was bearly working he told me he had to pass it as i was wearing an open faced helmet, therefore i can give the audiable warning !

Done it lads, thanks a lot. What a **** of a job, done minor damage to panel but will touch up easy.
Daz will drill rivets out and look for broke wire, all works with 12V buzzer wired in to check it was not wiring.
Thanks again.
