Very interesting. I just happen to be re constituting a Vespa autolube system. This looks very similar.

Why is the Vespa system deemed pretty reliable when, correct me if I am wrong, the Cometa system was generally considered problematic?

Narrowness of the drilling in the barrel??

vespa items are cog driven, the lambretta was basically a disc with a groove in it, easy to get worn and dirty i suppose.
