75 Exhaust Info Required
This has bugged me for a while as even though it was in a pretty short production run, why would Innocenti make the Vega exhaust that is pretty much exactly the same but have a version with a narrow and wide fixing point main exhaust shield / guard.
Was the narrow one the early type and the wider one the later or was it the other way around, then again as it was such a short production run anyway then why change it at all
Innocenti seamed to like to make life hard for themselves across every model range by the looks of things with tweaks and changes for no apparent reason other than they got bored.

early ones were narrow mounts, they were changed to wider mountings due to the heat guards snapping due to vibration, by making the mounting holes wider this cut out the vibration.

Cracking Exhaust - Gromit
How Innocenti designed the Vega is a mystery - and will probably remain so. My view is that you had a company that had no future plans, they were already building Innocenti Minis and scooters were probably looked on as things of the past. British Leyland knocked scooters on the head pretty quickly when they bought Innocenti and anyone in the design office probably saw their future designing cars. Any mods to Lambretta's were probably just lash ups at that stage........

phew... hard work
I think this new website is hard work with its messages/adverts, but hey-ho hopefully it won't get spammed with the fake Viagra adverts like the old one... Does anyone remember when people wrote letters?

gordon i have been the 999,999 visitor to this site several times now, or so i had been informed, and had several messages waiting for me, just ignore it, its probably because there has to be a free banner inclusion or whatever to allow the site to run for free, i for one can live with it.
good to see you back on here, now get your finger out and get that machine finished

Re: 75 Exhaust Info Required
i did have a 1 pice exhaust, and it was a pain to try and fit it, i never saw one fitted to a vega or cometa, but a mate had a genuine 50s lui and that had one fitted, along with a small bracket that fitted on the mag housing.
anyway i got fed up and cut the manifold part off and used the cast exhaust stub.
