Re: You reed valve conv guys
How i got over the carb finishing close to the chaincase side was get from the scrapyard a length of radiator hose that had a kink or slight curve in it. My Dellorto is the 25mm rubber mounted type. The kink moved the carb away from the trouble areas. I might use the same piece when i finally get my reed block fitted

Vega 140 carb and reed block
I have spent some more time futzing with the carb fitting, no elegant solution has occurred to me yet. I got a ScootRS Atomic reed block to try and although it relocates the carb a little, still not enough to fix the problem. The Atomic reed block itself needs fettling to fit the StarStream barrel, but not much. My impression is that it is a better quality job than the LTH unit.
Trotsky's installation with the Dell'Orto is much neater.
Here are a few pics of what I'm on about.
Also the rubber mounting flange for the 26mm Mikuni is not a terribly good fit (no annular ridge to mate with the bump on the carb stub) I fear it may 'wiggle off' all too easily in use.
Any thoughts etc would be welcome!

Carb Fettling
Hi Tony, did you get the Mini Atomic? Very little fettling is needed on my Starstrem Barrel. I've started my Dry build & below are some Pix of the Carb set-up, hope these help. I trimmed the Cowling & mudguard to fit & we had a spacer made to clear the carb from the crank-case (may be able to get some made if any-one wants one). As you can see the Carb misses the Kick-start by a good margin so there'll be no issues with a Filter.
I stole your idea & got a Sunny rear hub as well & i'm gonna use a Zip type front wheel so i'll hopefully be Tubeless all the way The pix aren't that good on here. so if you PM me your e-mail addy, i'll send some over that you can enlarge to get a good look at. Will post more as i go....Cheers Steve

Kickstart
Hi Joey
Can we see a pic of your modified k/s lever? I was considering trying to make a folding lever as used on many vintage motorcycles, but I am not sure that would work within the space available
