Anyone got any plans apart from Nige making progress with his racer (looking good by the way Nige Very Happy ) ?
Just fitted a rev counter with a lot of help to the reed-valve Vega now I know the revs to mph conversion and found it to be a very useful tool. A heater would be even more use at the moment but will play more next year Cool

I must admit I've often thought a about a rev counter and would be interested how you did it.
On another thought for over winter how about another get together at VMSC next year? I've mentioned it in the rallys section it would be great to see your custom vega again GC

4 speed Starstream box is 8.2mph per 1,000 revs with a 14 sprocket but have a 15 to try which will give 8.8mph per 1,000 revs.
If it pulls that, I'll be going with that when I try it next year.
The reed valve seems to work very well and really does the trick when it comes to getting 4th to stay useable but will see more next year (too cold).
Seems to be only one way to find out what works (or not) and that's to get out there and experiment with them !

I'm surprised to see that photo Razz Good memories there !
3.9hp on the dyno if I remember - or was it 3.7 ? Embarassed
I'm nearly 3 stones lighter now - figured out that losing the weight should be good for a few more mph ! Very Happy
