I have been looking for an alternative air filter to allow my bike to breathe. The standard filter chokes it so badly it will not run off tickover. It came with an Amal filter which was ok but a bit manky. I could have just bought a new one but thought I'd try this from Euro Carb, the Delorto importers; part No LYNXram40. It will require a 2mm thick spacer sleeve to get it to fit the 36mm standard carb stub but I've sorted something already from my enormous store of useful bits! If I was clever I could post a picture when fitted but I'm not. It looks nice and retro IMO. Better than a foam or K&N type.

Paul.

there used to be a filter that was very good and looked like a vega item, I thought it was a malossi item, but had a look on google and I cant see it, it was for a larger mouthed carb, but came with a few various fittings to fit smaller carbs too.

That's the one. It hasn't arrived yet so I can't give any more feedback.

I fitted it the other day but it breathes so well that the jetting is now off. Today I changed the atomiser for a 5899-2 and fitted a 5914-2 slide. Previously it had a -4 atomiser and -1 slide. main jet is 105 and choke jet is a 50. Pilot is 45. It now pulls like a train not perfect but very useable. I might try going back to a 5899-4 atomiser but at the moment no rush. BTW it's a full 125 conversion with standard exhaust.

Interesting. That's what mine is. You didn't feel u need the -6 atomiser before you fitted the new filter

I'm not sure how the SH1/2 atomisers are calibrated. Is a -6 richer than a -4 for example? The -2 is the one used in a 22mm carb for a GP200. I don't think I've got a -6 one to try, just -2's and 4's.
