Starsteam Gearbox

Hello all,
Would anybody know the correct positions of the gears on a starstream four speed gearbox in relation to the boss that I'm fitting it into my Vega.
e.g. forth gear is it boss towards wheel or kickstart etc.

Cheers Daz, would that apply to the other three gears or are they mixed like a Series 3?

in the workshop repair manual it says
4th boss towards the clutch
3rd boss towards the clutch
2nd boss towards the wheel
1st kickstart ratchet teeth towards the clutch

as thackers says, second gear is awkward, as its hard to tell which boss is the most raised, i have looked through some old otes earlier and found that i had writen that the innocenti stamping on thesecond gear faces the kickstart
always a good way to check is to mount all the gears on the layshaft and put the christmas tree along side, there should be the same gaps betwen the gears as there is between the christmas tree.

anyone got a picture of this as mine doesnt have as much gap between the 1st and 2nd gears as 3rd and 4th. ive put it together as above. cheers.
