Repairing shock absorber mount

The thread on my shock absorber mount on the frame has seen better days. It is beyond just running a thread file around it.

At the moment, the nut is only holding on by 1 or 2 threads and Loctite.

Has anyone any suggestions for how to effect a sound repair?

Could you perhaps get it re threaded by an engineer, i would have thought it would be easy for someone with industrial strength taps and dies to make it useable.

My thoughts at the moment are to take it to a precision engineering company I have used many times before. I certainly don’t think I have the skills to sort this personally, Dave.

I am just looking for ideas in case they haven’t dealt with many such cases in the past.

I would think any engineer workshop worth their salt could refresh or rethread what you need, even if the thread was cut to a new size it wouldn't really mater. Good luck

My engineer cut off the old one and made a new stud which is screwed into the stub that was left. Job is a good one
