It might be a difficult one

I don't know if this is ever likely to happen but, those parts that are hard to come by which we all know about, could we as a club generate between ourselves the funds to have some of the parts re-made? Those who contribute then have the items shared between themselves (pro rata) to keep and perhaps sell on at an agreed price so there's no under cutting fellow members. Headlight units and rims seem to be ever in demand. I don't know if the money required would be to high an amount to get together, or the makers would only consider too high in numbers of production but eventually supplies will run out then we will have to consider the Ebay prices i.e. £170 inc' p&p for a headlight unit.

Not a bad thought Thackers but I feel that unless it's a part that can be made in small batches by a 'loca' firm, similar in concept to the stainless axles someone once made I feel the tooling costs alone would be prohibitive . Headlamps for example would have to be made by a specialist company. I propose we start by listing all the stuff that is ' impossible' to find and petition Vitorio at Casa to see if he would consider having the parts remade for worldwide distribution.

I had many of the plastic and rubber parts remade years ago by a guy in America.
it was at a time he was setting up and the £ to $ exchange rate was very good.
only items I never got were the petrol tank rubber and the rear light terminal cover.
all the other stuff was remade and he should still have the original moulds for them.
I sent a light rim off years ago to see if they could be produced and got a resounding no.
has anyone ever tried getting in touch with C.E.V to see if they still have the old machinery or old stock ?

Its a good idea BUT the productions runs would be small due to only a limited number of people wanting them.

When I spoke to Dean at Scootopia a couple of weeks ago he told me that light rims are going to go into production for both the Lui 50 CL and the Vega/Cometa so that is one item off of our list.

Lets get a list together and see what we need producing and then see if he is willing to have them made.

In line spare wheel holder
Vega headlight rim

ill put vega square front badge on list. cant find one anywhere.
