there is a small hole in the frame strut, the longer end goes through it. i'll try and get a picture up for you, it will make it clearer.

if you have an old spring the easiest way to stretch the new one is by using the old one if you get my drift

i fitted one end of the spring, then with some long nosed pliers pulled the other end swore a lot untill it fitted
