Flip choke for SH1/20

My project has a vega carb which has correct internals except for main jet (118!!).

It does not have a flip choke though although it does have the hole n the casing to hold one down.

Somewhere, I have a choke for a PHBH but I doubt they are the same. Can anyone help please?

I bought a flip choke from twisted rods on eBay, it wasn't expensive but was told it would do the job. My rebuild has slowed so not tried it yet.

Thanks for that. I shall dig out my PHBH one and see if it does fit.

I think the PHBH is too long if memory serves me right.

I've just fitted one that looks the same to a standard 20mm Vega carb. The brass slider is a different length to the original one but most importantly it does clear the hole when fully raised and closes it when down. Not tried running it yet.

Just tried the PHBH one. The plunger is the right diameter but it is too long and also the fitting is too wide at the top.

Bummer, I was hoping this would work with some ease unlike every other job I've tried doing my vega. I'm away at the moment but will have a play with my carb & this choke. I'll report back.

Paul, I was sending you a message before my broadband threw a fit but others may be interested. Delorto UK aka Eurocarb have several types of flip chokes listed. You need the 34mm one as opposed to the 41mm I believe you have. Go to their website, type in choke into the search box, scroll down and you'll see the different types. I've measured a standard Vega one and its spot on the same as the 34mm listed.

Ps this firm is very helpful with Delorto carb spares.

Dellorto part number 7814 and, yes, Eurocarbs have it in stock. It isn't listed on the website.

Yes, it does fit. As mentioned above, it is a 34mm drop.
