I keep reading such conflicting advice on how to register a bike, who does it and what is needed. I've got two Vega frames and the numbers are clear. The engine casings numbers (75) are also clear.

Can someone give me, or point me to a coherent guide to doing the necessary registration/dating/NOVA.

Would be much appreciated Very Happy

You need to contact our very own leader Pete Davies (ADMIN). He will give you a dating cert needed to get along the path of registration number. I'm sure he will advise on any other matter related to your post. Probably the best Lambretta "mind" in the country.

I have recently registered my Vega after a long time off the uk roads paperwork long lost, what i did was i called HMRC helpline and spoke to a nice bloke who said fill a NOVA form which i downloaded and filled it in as best as a can he also said write a covering letter explaining it has not been imported and has been off road a long while i enclosed the receipt i got when i bought the bike 2 weeks later i got the Nova number from HMRC.

then you need,
Dating certificate, [BLA our very own Pete]
MOT on VIN number,
Insurance on VIN number,
Filled out V55/5 form,
Utility bill for confirmation of address,
Driving licence/passport/birth certificate either of those for proof of name,
Fee £80

i put in some photos of Vin number and covering letter this helps it not being inspected which is a pain!!

hope this helps,

Cheers John

Charlie - drop me a PM with the frame and engine number details and I'll do the 2 letters for you for a mere £10 (for both) which can be paid via Paypal to soulie66@aol.com
