For those who have done the electronic conversion have you replaced the rubber ball with a hole in it that I assume is to act as a seal to prevent water ingress into the stator/mag housing? I can't fit all the wires through mine now due to the extra wire from it being electronic (i think). From the dodgy position I mounted my junction box I want to eliminate any duplicity of possible causes if it starts to pack up in the rain

Just cut it ,wrap around the wiring and fit the top plate. It should crush tight but you could also smear some silicon on as well. Smile or coat the rubber and wiring in WD40 and it should slip on with ease. Don't forget some copper grease on the plate screws.

Ta. Simple solution to daft question. Sometimes I should use my own brain. Didn't bother with silicone (which was along the lines of what I was thinking) as none to hand.

an alternative to using the stator plate screws is to fit studs in, makes it easier to remove without the worry of the small screw snapping.

Top tip that Daz. Pain in the bum them screws as have to remove the rear wheel to get to them. Obviously not something you have to undo every day but still annoying when you do.
