Re: Latest Project
Well it's been a couple of weeks with some very late nights after work in the garage sorting the electrickery out. Routing & shortening the loom as it was too long, re-wiring the Digi-Speedo & all the gubbings, adding a simple ignition switch, cutting, soldering & joining it all (running & hiding everything inside the body), & then continually testing it, to make sure it all works . I've finally got to where I'm happy with it, to the point I can now start finishing the build. Now got everything back so can get cracked on...
Electric box..
Timing marks made..
Ignition Switch drilled & locked in place..
Motor finished & in, Rear Hub & Mudguard on now electrics are sorted..
Front end all tested, will tidy up & start cabling tomorrow...

Your electrical work is the best I've seen. I too went with a simple ignition switch but put mine on the centre beam opposite the steering lock, making it more difficult to simply start and ride away can only be a good thing.

Re: Latest Project
Hi fellas, thanks all. Gaz & Thackers, yes a simple switch should help & having the coil hidden away will help over-ride simply by-passing the switch. Not that exciting, but here are some more Pix of my progress so far...
Wiring & cabling from headset finally taking shape...
Head-set starting to take shape...
Throttle routed & connected...
Clutch & Gear cable outers cut & routed...

Re: Latest Project
Cheers Daz.....It Runs at last Got plenty done today, just gotta dial the timing in, bolt on the final parts & deal with any issues that arise . The lights flicker at low revs now it's running & on AC, but I can live with that (was spoilt while testing everything via battery!). Will probably switch the horn & brake light over onto the DC feed to help them out...
Had to add a Capacitor as the Speedo wouldn't work direct from the rectifier, 9V battery supply for the Speedo Clock will be velcroed to the lid..
Back-end..
Front-end..
Headset finished, just got to decide on grips..

latest project
looking good, coming together nicely.
did you use a spacer between reed block and cylinder. matched mine up and the ports are way out of line with each other, so made a spacer profiled to match them up, hoping this will work.

Re: Latest Project
Cheers snails, yes this week hopefully - with seat .
Cheers Daz, I'm all wired out now that's for sure . Your work looks fine to me mate..
Boozee, not sure what reed-valve your using but I've got a mini atomic on mine. I just matched the reed-block direct to the inlet as there is plenty of meat on the atomic, & then had a spacer made so the Carb would clear the crankcase (TS1 Exhaust Gasket is a perfect template). My Barrel has a 6mm packer underneath as well which conveniently helps with the cable routing to the gear block.
Hope the pix help...

reed valve
hi, ive got the mini atomic as well with a polini carb. i opted out of porting the reed valve manifold (got scared.) but seems like the better option. job for the weekend i think. havent needed to space the carb out as the polini carb is a lot smaller, just about get cables around it.

Re: Latest Project
Thanks fellas, John, I'm using a J125 one, because i've taken the seam & "W" bracket out, i didn't have to put a Ding in the cowling. I've made 2 little spacer plates that go between the bottom of the cowling & on top of the casing where they meet to allow for the barrel packer.
Here are some pix of it (nearly) finished. The rack is at the powder-coaters so just got to adjust the cables & dial in the speedo with the wheel circumference to get the correct speedo reading....Oh & then put the dreaded Beam on ....MOT & then good to go..
