veglia speedo drive

can anyone direct me to where i can get a speedo cable for a veglia type speedo drive.it doesnt have an external thread for the outer cable to screw onto but has a groove as if the outer cable just pushes on or does the outer cable screw into the speedo drive which looks like it is threaded, can anyone throw any light on this? thanks mick.

the bare outer of the speedo cable screws into the drive unit.
