Luna Indicator Switch
What type of indicator switch was used on Australian Vega's? Was it incorporated into the existing or separate? I've had an idea for using modern carbon fibre style mirrors with built in indicators on mine, I reckon the top of the handle bar is thick enough to take an 8mm tapping without weakening it.
My vega is progressing again, legsheilds going on, just struggling with the badges a bit (and why not, everything has been a struggle ).

thackers is correct in that they are very, very hard to come by, probably stand more chance of getting one from australia than the uk.
they do fit the normal switch housing, but are a little bigger than the usual switch, and as such they have a black plastic wedge on the top to protect them from the weather.

Nice Switch
Yes the switch looks the business, pity they are so rare - some lateral thinking required then - Necessity is the Mother of Invention.

I have a spare
Well, just bought a Cometa that came with one on it, and a spare... and may have just found another switch too. If I get the 3rd one, I'll be happy to sell one on.
I thought I'd upload some pics of inside the headset, so you can see how it was wired, plus some detailed pics of the indicator unit and where it was placed. It's the blue thing underneath the wires coming in from the switch.
The REd and Black and the Blue and black wires are for the indicators
The orange comes off the main loom, the Black and white comes off the switch.
Now for indicator wire detail:
So, the black plastic covers are just insulating covers. I have no idea why the red/black and blue/black wires were in opposite ends of the same insulator. They are not connected in any way at all. So, if I use the red/black as an example what you ahve is:
Coming out of main loom is a red/black wire. This is split and has a female bullet connector (The middle one) and that goes off to the indicator. The wire then continues on to another female bullet connector at the end, and that connects to the red/black wire on the switch.
Lastly, the rear light bracket, showing the extra bracket for the indicators. Here I disagree with Daz, I think original looks better.

Re: Luna Indicator Switch
great pics siobhan, very detailed, the orage wire to the flasher relay is where i was getting confused last time, thats direct from the stator, and on a non indicator model its that that supplies the horn power. as for the number plate bracket, we'll see

Re: Luna Indicator Switch
On the indicator model, you get two brown wires (I'm guessing one goes up to the headset) in the left hand terminal of the horn, and a white wire into the right hand terminal.

Re: Luna Indicator Switch
Nice. Flashing indicators.... as opposed to non-flashing ones :-)
Where did that come from?
and here's a copy of the original innocenti drawing sent to the distributors. I got this via Ron De Pannone, who runs Casa Lambretta Australia and whose Uncle used to work for the Western Australian Distributors, Winterbottoms:
